Tufts University September 18-20, 2009

UF Team in Boston, MA ('09)

The Gators flew up to Boston Friday afternoon and then traveled to Tufts University in Somerville. The sailors stayed with the ATO Sailing Fraternity on campus. The Tufts Sailing Team regularly sails Larks, a new boat for the Gators. Upon arrival to the Tufts Boathouse and venue on Mystic Lake, the sailors rigged up and were postponed due to lack of breeze. Once the breeze settled into a variable 5-7 knots, ten races were completed. The sailors celebrated at Mike's Restaurant In Davis Square where they watched the Gators Football Team take victory over U. of Kentucky. Sunday morning races were postponed due to lack of wind until 11 when the SE winds filled and held steady at 5-10. Congratulations Gators on an 11th place finish out of 24 schools.
