Welcome to the home page of the University of Florida Sailing Team. We are a Club Sport funded by the Department of Recreational Sports. Since we are a Club Sport, we are in charge of running events and maintaining our own equipment. Boats and Facilities We sail at Lake Wauburg, about 20 minutes south of campus. At the lake's North Park, we have a fleet of 13 boats consisting of ten 1999 Vanguard 420's sitting on a floating dock and 3 FJ's on the grass. We also have access to the fleet of ten Lasers maintained by the Lake. Important Links for Members
Event/Practice Updates and Upcoming Regatta Information: 11/22-23 SAISA/MAISA @ Charleston
Football: The Citadel 12/30-31 Sugar Bowl Coed/Women's @ Tulane Starting in November through next semester we will be working on Team Racing during practices. Team Racing is a 3 on 3 or 2 on 2 race (two schools) with winning based on the combinations of finishes as a team. To achieve good combo's, teams use various sailing rules/strategies which can be found in the team racing call book -> http://www.sailing.org/9514.php Team racing lessons will take place at the end of future meetings. The Sailing Team Fall Banquet will be held this year on December 11, 2008. Be on the look out for future meeting notes/emails for more information. Sign up for the Alachua Country Food Drive!!!
